Hi All,
I just wanted to check in with everyone about Ellie's new book that is coming out.
The book is: So Easy: Luscious, Healthy Recipes for Every Meal of the Week
It is available now for purchase on Amazon.
I think it is a no brainer that we include this new book in our group. However, I do understand that not everyone will be able to get it right away. I suspect that many of the recipes in the new book will also be available on the Food Network site, but I am not sure.
So here is what I propose:
- We can begin cooking out of the new book immediately. If it is your turn to pick and you have the book, feel free to choose out of it.
- If a new recipe is chosen and you don't have the book yet and the recipe is not available online, you can either do a rewind of a recipe we have already made, or just make and post about any Ellie Krieger recipe you want.
- We can operate like this through the end of the year, this should give everyone time to buy the book or get it for the Holidays.
- If you are unable to get the book by that time, just shoot me an email and we can work something out.
AND, since Nick and I are rolling in money from Foodbuzz (okay, not really) I figured it would be nice to use that money to give away a few copies of Ellie's new book. So all you have to do is leave a comment in this post by 11:59PM on Tuesday October 27th, saying what your favorite Ellie Krieger recipe is, and two lucky winners will be randomly chosen and will receive a copy of So Easy: Luscious, Healthy Recipes for Every Meal of the Week .
Also, as always, I am totally open to feedback and ideas on the group in general, and on my proposal for incorporating the new book into Craving Ellie.
Thanks!

I can't wait to get and start cooking from the new cookbook!! The more healthy, delicious recipes of Ellie's the better!
ReplyDeleteI am one of the newest members of this club, but in making my first ever Ellie recipe, I was forced to get over my fear of making soup. I will always remember Ellie's Tuscan Vegetable Soup as taking my soup virginity ;)
ReplyDeleteOOOhh, I'm so excited about the new cookbook! So far, my fave Ellie recipes have been the jambalaya, the stuffed turkey burgers and the carrot cupcakes. I couldn't pick just one!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy fave is the Aromatic Noodles with Lime-Peanut Sauce. YUM! Sara, I've been meaning to let you know that I didn't disappear, I'm still a totally gung-ho member, just haven't been as diligent about doing this every week lately. Will be back in full force in a couple weeks! xo
ReplyDeleteWhoops, forgot to say my favorite recipe...Three Bean and Beef Chili
ReplyDeleteMy all-time favorite Ellie recipe is the Tuscan roasted chicken and veggies from The Food You Crave. So yummy!
ReplyDeleteSo far my favorite is the Linguini with Shrimp (to be posted on 11/5).
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I pre-ordered my new book a couple weeks ago and I got it yesterday!
yum! we would love this cookbook. our favorite is a simple but so good soup, lemon chicken soup with orzo!
ReplyDeleteI think that's a good plan :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Ellie recipe is the blueberry coffee cake.
PS - I think I'm going to skip tonight's meal. Worth is sucking the life out of me :(
There really hasn't been a recipe that we didn't like. So I have to say my all time favorite for flavor, texture, and ease of prep. is the Nutty Granola.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite recipe is the Sea Bass with Olives, Capers, and tTomatoes dish. I also pre-ordered so it should be arriving soon.
ReplyDeleteEK is going to be at MDAnderson in Houston on Nov 2nd. http://www.mdanderson.org/elliekrieger
ReplyDeletei love her lemon, chicken & green bean salad from the first book...such a fabulous and impressive dish. i also adore her carrot cupcakes! yum.
ReplyDeletewhite gazpacho- grapes, almonds and yumminess.
ReplyDeleteOne favorite is hard to choose, but I have to go with the fish tacos. Love them.
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed everything (well, almost) that we have made so far from the book...the crispy fish fingers went over so big here I think I will have to choose them! All of the fish dishes have been winners for us, really.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in the group very long, but my favorite recipe that we have cooked so far has been the stuffed turkey burgers, they are so versatile, you can change them up any way that you want.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Ellie recipe is the one for this week Pumpkin Pie Muffins. Even my children and my pumpkin hating husband liked them.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea, and I can't wait to get the new book. I tried to look for it yesterday, but Border's didn't have it yet :(
ReplyDeleteThere have been quite a few recipes that were excellent, but the one that stands out to me is the Thai Style Halibut (and I'm not just saying that because it was my pick LOL).
Just got her new book and I LOVE it! She puts together full meals and still keeps the calories within a good range. I noticed a lot of online recipes too. All in all, very pleased. She breaks down every breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack section into two - one for quick on the go and one for those nights where you have a little more time (still 30 min. or so). Can't wait tot make some of these recipes!
ReplyDeleteLove all the recipes I have made so far and there is not one single one that I have not made more than once b/c they are that good! I can't pick just one! The Spicy Grilled Cheese Sandwich, however, has been made at leat 20 times!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteLoving the recipes so much but I would have to that say my favorite so far is the Jambalaya.
You know, I love the book that I have, but I have honestly found all the recipes online in one format or another. Anyone else have ideas about this?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Ellie recipes have been the Salmon with Sweet and Spicy Rub and the Baked Shrimp with Tomatoes and Feta!
ReplyDeleteWOW, it is almost impossible to choose just ONE Ellie recipe ... my mouth starts to water as I think back through the various ones I have made. I loved the Thai Style Halibut and the Crispy Fish Fingers (anything fish is always at the top of my list) and the Double Chocolate Pudding Pie wins in the dessert category.
ReplyDeleteI love giveaways! I'm pretty new to Ellie recipes, but so far my favorite is her carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
