First, my apologies for not updating this blog in the last 2 weeks. Things have been kind of hectic for me. I will try to do better :)
Tell All about this week's recipe - Pasta Puttanesca...have at it....
Let's also welcome a new member Brianne of Yoshimi Vs. Motherhood
Hi! I've been blogging for almost a year now and have been making an effort to update it at least once a week, which can sometimes be hard with my busy schedule! I've got two little boys and I am always looking for new ways to get them to eat healthy. We love Ellie's recipes and would love to cook along with CEIMB!
Has anyone made this without the anchovy paste or does anyone have any substitution suggestions? I had a bad experience with anchovy paste so I'm trying to find some alternatives. Thanks!
ReplyDeletei've been making puttanesca for years. my family loves it. i always make sure that i have all of the ingredients in my pantry for those nights when i don't know what to make for dinner. i've never used the paste. my daughter had anchovies on pizza while she was in Paris in the fall and loved it. i will have to try this.
ReplyDeleteI made this last night and it was great! I will definitely be making this again. I love that all of the ingredients came out of my pantry. (I omitted everything that wasn't in my pantry, like the arugula and fresh parsley.) I haven't had a chance to do a blog post yet, hopefully I can do it tonight!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to add that I think you could make it without the anchovy paste, but I don't think it would be the same. It would still be good, just lacking that layer of flavor.
ReplyDeleteInstead of using the paste, try mashing up one anchovy (or to taste) and mixing it in. The paste can be rather strong. We like a "hint" of anchovy, but we really don't want much more.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Here's the challenge. You have a whole month to make your choices. Which of Ellie's side dishes would you serve with the Lemon Garlic Marinated Lamb Chops that is our dish for May 6th?
