Tell All - Salmon with Sweet & Spicy Rub

How goes it with the salmon?

Here is some good information on Salmon from Seafood Watch.

  1. I am the only one in the family who will eat salmon and I do not like it all that much (it is good but I only eat it occasionally). We just do not eat a lot of seafood. Some of that is because my husband has an allergy to some seafoods. I think I might try this with chicken.

  2. I'm not a huge fan of fish, but I do eat some salmon and tuna every now and then. Now I will do that more often, this recipe is delicious!!!

  3. We tried this last week after running across this blog and seeing the recipe. I have to say it was great. I liked the sweet and spicy mix and it was just the right combination to give the fish a good taste. I usually don't like salmon too much but this tasted so good that I didn't even need to drown it in tarter sauce!! I used the rub on wild Coho salmon fillets I found at Trader Joes. Will definitely use this rub again.

  4. @HP Sorry to hear about the food allergy. There is little one can do except find substitutes. I think this will work with chicken.

@Marthe Fish is one of the healthiest proteins out there, I'm glad you liked this and will try to check it out more often going forward.

@Lorie Now you made me hungry for my dinner. Thanks for checking out our group and your comment!

  6. I made this tonight and everyone loved it. I left the spices off a couple extra pieces because I wasn't sure if it was going to be too spicy for the kids (They devour fish). I thought it was a little too sweet, but I like my fish blackened better than anything. I served it with the lentil dish that it was served over on the food network site. This was a nice dinner.

  7. I'm going to be a day late on this one, was planning on making it tonight but forgot about husband's office party so it's dinner tomorrow! Will post on Friday...it sounds really good so I can't wait to try it!

  8. I am going to try to cook this on Thursday night, so I will be late posting. I normally do not like salmon, but I will give this a try!

  9. The salmon was delish with the rub - I loved eating the carmalized sugar off of my spatula too! We served this with a rice, lentil, and whole wheat pasta dish called kusherie. We loved both meals and that the dish was light enough to still have room for dessert - guilt free!

  10. We had this for dinner tonight, and it was just okay for us. It had good flavor, but it just didn't blow our socks off. I loved that it was super-fast to put together. If I had all the ingredients on hand, I would definitely make this again. I would describe it as a solid dinner choice, but not something I would "crave".

  11. I made this last night with chicken. It was very good. I agree with Jen that I don't think I would crave this but if I was looking for a dinner idea and did not have much on hand this would be a perfect go to dish. I served it with yellow rice and sweet corn.
