Tell All - Turkey Meatballs with Spicy Tomato Sauce and Whole Wheat Spaghetti

Who else is excited for this meal?

I have made these meatballs many times, and I actually posted about it before I joined CEiMB. I like to broil these instead of cook them in a sauce because they get all crispy and brown on the outside. You can check out my post if you are interested.

Let's hear what you thought of these meatballs and sauce.

  1. Can't find any chipotles in adobo sauce here, any ideas on what I could use instead?

  2. I'm really excited about this one as I adore spaghetti and meatballs. I usually make the Martha Stewart turkey meatballs so I'm eager to try something different. This week is 100% nuts for me and I haven't figured out when I'm going to make them yet so there's a chance that I might end up posting them a little late.

  4. @ Marthe- Here is a recipe for homemade chipotles in adobo:

Not sure if the raw ingredients would be any easier for you to find though...
You could always do like Sara did in her older blog post and make Ellie's meatballs but your own sauce.

  5. Thanks AJM, but no chipotle peppers here, only jalapeno peppers... I guess I'll just make my own sauce :)

  6. Marthe, chipotles are just smoked jalapenos, so you'll be fine. If you have smoked spanish paprika, you can add that and get the smokiness.

  7. Thanks Leslie! I think I'll just use the smoked paprika and add some pureed jalapeno peppers to that....

  8. Marthe - another suggestion, if you haven't already made this dish, is to add a couple sprinkles of chipotle chili powder. I found some at Kroger (my local grocery store) so maybe they will have something like that at your store? It just has a bit of a smokey spice to it, but don't use much because it can be pretty spicy!

  9. Fabulous dish! At the request of my hubby we made "meat sauce" it was delicious all combined together and much less time consuming.

  10. Jessica, I love your husband's idea! That would make this dish even easier.
